Daylit Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 June 2026
Daylit is an honest day planner, made by Erek Studio. This policy explains, plainly, what happens to your data.
The short version
- No account. You do not sign up, log in, or give us your name, email, or phone to use Daylit.
- Your profile and plan history live on your device. Your planning profile, capacity, energy windows, tone, habits, and your past plans are stored in the app's private storage on your phone, not on our servers.
- To build a plan, your brain-dump and profile are sent to a trusted AI. A day plan has to be generated somewhere. When you ask for a plan, your brain-dump text and your profile are sent over an encrypted connection to our gateway, which forwards them to a trusted AI provider to produce the plan.
- We do not store your planning content. Our gateway is zero-retention: it forwards your text to the AI provider and the plan back to you and keeps no copy. The only things we store are anonymous, content-free counters, such as how many requests this device made today, used to run the service and prevent abuse.
What is processed, and by whom
On your device, not sent to us for storage:
- Your planning profile, including capacity, peak and low-energy hours, tone, and habits.
- Your plan history.
- App settings and onboarding state.
Sent to our gateway and our AI provider, only to generate a plan:
- Your brain-dump text and your profile, and the resulting plan content.
Our AI provider is DeepSeek, served from DeepInfra in the United States. OpenAI is used as a fallback if it is unavailable, and Anthropic as a last resort if both are. Under their standard API terms, these providers do not use your content to train their models. They may process and briefly retain content for safety and abuse-monitoring as described in their own policies — DeepInfra states that it generally does not log request content but reserves the right to log a small portion for debugging and security. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone other than the AI provider needed to generate your plan.
Advertising
The free tier is supported by rewarded ads served by Google AdMob: you choose to watch a short video to unlock a plan, and Daylit Premium removes ads entirely. To serve them, AdMob receives your device's advertising identifier, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and interaction data such as ad impressions and clicks. On iOS we ask your permission first (App Tracking Transparency); in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for consent through Google's consent form, and you can change your answer at any time from Profile → Ad privacy options. If you decline, you still see ads, but non-personalised ones. We add no analytics or crash-reporting SDK of our own.
Payments
Subscriptions are handled directly by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never receive your card details.
Subprocessors
- Cloudflare - runs the gateway that relays your request, for transit and compute, and stores no content.
- DeepInfra (United States), primary - generates the plan. OpenAI fallback, Anthropic last resort.
- Google AdMob - serves ads to free users, and processes the advertising identifier, approximate location and ad-interaction data described above.
- Apple / Google - device attestation, App Attest / Play Integrity, and payments.
Children
Daylit is not directed to children and is intended for a general audience.
Your control
- Edit your profile any time in the app.
- Delete plans from your history.
- Deleting the app removes your on-device profile and history from your phone.
